<STRONG>Job Description</STRONG><BR>Develops, supports and maintains basic application development projects according to appropriate specifications. Must have SMARTS development skills.<BR><BR>Duties/Responsibilities: <BR>- Install, provide configuration support, upgrade, test and troubleshoot services for network management applications<BR>- Develop network management applications based on provided requirements<BR>- Enhance and integrate vendor based network management applications<BR>- Perform analysis on emerging requirements and consult with GST architects on strategic direction <BR>- Develop and manage the documentation for service <BR>- Provide assistance developing integration with external data sources and applications <BR>- Develop automation to replace manual tasks <BR>- Plan, propose, and deploy service to new customers <BR>- Prepare estimates for system changes and enhancements <BR>- Participate in overall quality issues in compliance with ISO 9001 and ITIL processes. <BR>- Participate in collaborative work teams and projects related to network management issues<BR>- Train others on appropriate and effective use of the tools <BR>- Coordinate system activities to ensure conformity with global guidelines and standards <BR>- There may be times when on-call responsibilities are required <BR><BR>Essential:<BR>- Network Management Systems and application <BR>- Experience with Command Line automation<BR>- Experience with SNMP, SNMP Traps, syslogs<BR>- Experience with Network Configuration<BR>- Unix operating systems, especially Solaris &amp; Linux<BR>- Windows &amp; Microsoft Office environments<BR>- Web development (PERL, PHP, Java, Javascript, SQL)<BR>- Strong knowledge of networks, technologies, architecture<BR>- Network management concepts &amp; protocols<BR>- Understanding of Data, Wireless and voice network management concerns<BR>- Understand FCAPS and ITIL processes<BR><BR>Considered a plus:<BR>- Experience with RMON, RMON2 <BR>- Knowledge of Cisco and Nortel equipment <BR>- Oracle, MS-SQL and other database skills<BR>- Voice management, routing protocols, network management experience, OpenView, SMARTS, Spectrum, Nagios, Open Source tools<BR><BR>Essential Skills: <BR>- Ability to manage project related tasks <BR>- Excellent customer relations and vendor relations skills <BR>- Good oral and written communication skills <BR>- Analytical and process driven <BR>- Ability to handle multiple tasks <BR>- Ability to function well in a fast-paced, demanding environment<BR><BR>Education Required: <BR>- BS/BA in Computer Sciences or Computer Engineering, or minimum 3 years experience in network related applications development. <BR><BR>Additional Training (considered a plus, not required):<BR>- CCNA certification<BR>- iNet+ certification<BR>- Network+ certifications <BR>- Any Juniper certification or training<BR>- Any Nortel Certification or training<BR><BR>Apex Systems, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer and encourages minority and female applicants to apply.df-lj More...
